Part of a Hayes Valley local artist show at the favorite watering hole down there.
February '06
Why yes, I am an exclusive member of the artists' cooperative gallery ;-)
To blog a bit here, THIS WAS HELL! I was up for the month of Feb as a suprise. I think I gave them a card to contact me some months prior, and then forgot about it. On January 31st I received a very abrupt, supper-time interruption. It came in the form of a call from the cafe manager. He asked me when I was planning on hanging up my show. I had nothing ready to go at all, but I told him I could start hanging stuff the following evening. After three days of very little food or sleep, I had everything up and ready to go. What a frigging nightmare... But (pardon the pun) 'the exposure' was good.

I say, when in North Beach, check out this San Francisco landmark saloon. It's the bar right across Jack Kerouac Alley from City Lights Bookstore, on Columbus. Up until two years ago, I had never been inside. But jeez, there is alot of eye candy. Colorful, but dusty (like any good bar) permanent art from over the ages blankets the walls, floor to ceiling. This is what I put up.

Thinker's Cafe (Sept. 1st - 30th)
I showed some work at this very relaxed, however prim and proper Potrero Hill cafe. The place has good coffee, sandwiches, salads, and a small, but tasty selection of beer and wine and other bevs. For those of you who were unable to make it up there, see the photos here.
Place Pigalle (Aug. 20th - Sept. 30th)
Get a nice glass of wine or beer (or soju, or one of their famous Jello shots) down in Hayes Valley. Or, if you're some kind of a Puritan, just look at the artwork they have on display, and have some yummy water. Anyway, I took pictures of the show, you can see it online here.
Oh, and by the way, I called the show "Relief for the Color Stricken", because that's just what it was...

Empire Seven Studios: Emulsion Stew
In 2006, Jai Tanju started the ¡Film por Vida! Photo Exchange. Since then it's grown to over two hundred people on at least 4 continents! So he figured he go public with it & have a show featuring as many of the participants as possible. It was a great turnout, with almost 60 photographers.

RayKo Photo Center: It's Still Life
The title of the show says it all about the theme. Very fun. Actually it's always a blast at Rayko's openings. I was very proud to show with so many other great photographers.
